VASS recommends servicing vaporizers through our exchange program (minimum of every 5 years) to ensure they continue working safely and properly.

VASService performs a vaporizer certification in the field every year when performing the annual anesthesia maintenance. The certification includes a precision vaporizer leak test, bypass test, and calibration verification using a digital analyzer.

VASS recommends servicing vaporizers through our exchange program (minimum of every 5 years) to ensure they continue working safely and properly. The primary purpose is due to wick and seal degeneration which occurs over time, creating the likelihood of leaks and gas output to fluctuate.

Around the control valve is a rubber gasket that can get anesthetic agent on it, which can swell, contract and eventually crack and cause vapor leakage into the environment, which is extremely dangerous to your staff and your patients.

Finally, the vaporizers simply get dirty on the inside. This dirt can scratch brass rotary valves on your vaporizer which can cause anesthetic fluctuations. It is not possible to properly service vaporizers on site.

Previously, options for this service meant down-time of your equipment while your vaporizer was sent for service but VASS exchange services allow us to deliver/exchange the noted vaporizers recommended on site during your scheduled annual PM Services or through two way directional shipping methods.
